Westonbirt House Wedding Photography in Cotswolds | Joel & Francesca
''Once the day is over and you are revelling in post wedding bliss the photos and videos are what you will look back on to reminisce on your special day. I am not someone that particularly likes having their photo taken or make up done etc, but with the right people around you they can make you feel really comfortable and bring out the best in you for your big day! I’m not sure we will ever get bored of looking through the photos and videos from our wedding day! ''Francesca & Joel
Joel and Francesca got married in April at Westonbirt House. We had warm sunny weather , tipi outside in front of the beautiful , grand looking ,Victorian Manor . Everything about this wedding I love : Elegant but yet relaxed , focused on people having a great time surrounded by the beautiful landscape and architecture . The garden , the orangery are just stunning . It was an inspiration to photograph Joel & Francesca's wedding .
Planning Wedding at Westonbirt House in Tetbury
( Tips & recommendations from Joel and Francesca )
What was the most memorable moment from your wedding day ?
Every element of our wedding day exceeded our expectations so it is difficult to choose just one memorable moment... However, coming together in the church and looking around to see all of our loved ones under one roof was certainly special for us. Later, dancing the night away with all of our guests was also very memorable!
What did you love about location you got married ?
The location was really special to us as not only was it breathtakingly beautiful, but it was so close to my family home. Having walked past it many times in the past, I had always dreamed of one day getting married there and then my dreams came true! The main building is stunning and the grounds gave us the beautiful Cotswolds wedding that we wanted. The team at Westonbirt House were really helpful and supported us throughout.
Any tips, recommendations for newly engaged couples when organising wedding ?
Firstly, congratulations! Now take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the planning process. We were told stories of newly engaged couples feeling overwhelming stress and families having disagreements over their day. We didn’t want to experience any of this and tried to enjoy the planning process as much as possible. Your loved ones will all have an opinion on your wedding day decisions but go with your gut, choose what you and your partner want and don’t be influenced by others because you’ll only have your time to shine once (…well hopefully!).
What would you do differently when organising your wedding ?
There isn’t much we would do differently, although personally, if we were organising it again I would have liked to have had more belief that the day was going to be amazing from the outset. I did worry about our guests having a great day (beforehand) but everyone said they had the best time!
What was the most hardest or challenging when organising your wedding ?
Knowing where to spend our wedding budget and where to save. In the end, we spent on good, local suppliers that shared our outlook on the day and saved on doing lots of diy decorations, flower arrangements etc. This worked for us :)
What apps /tools you used to organise wedding ? Was it helpful?
Reading wedding blogs and wedding magazines gave us inspiration and ideas for the big day. Word of mouth and taking recommendations from our suppliers was really helpful. We didn’t use a wedding app as such but we did have a wedding notebook and lots of spreadsheets! As the bride, I really enjoyed watching wedding TikToks and listened to a couple of humorous wedding podcasts which gave me a few pointers on things that I wouldn’t have thought about otherwise.
Anything else you would like to share ?
Once the day is over and you are revelling in post wedding bliss the photos and videos are what you will look back on to reminisce on your special day. I am not someone that particularly likes having their photo taken or make up done etc, but with the right people around you they can make you feel really comfortable and bring out the best in you for your big day! Lastly, everyone will tell you that the actual day will whizz by in a flash and this is true! Months of planning all come down to a number of hours and it really does go quickly. No doubt there will be hiccups along the way, in both the planning period and on the actual day but just remember what’s actually important and why you are all together. Take it all in and try to enjoy every second!
