Claire & Chris | Almonry Barn wedding photography
Claire and Chris met online and spoke for a few months online prior to going on the first date, it was a long distance relationship and in the end they moved in together. Two years later they got engaged in Australia in Manley bay, where they were visiting Chris's brother. It happened after a super long walk '' more like a hike actually it was very special and even more special that we could celebrate it with family in a beautiful location'' Chris and Claire got married in a beautiful Almonry Barn in Somerset. Everything about this wedding is what I love . Relaxed , personal , celebration of the most important day with people they love and care, amazing food and lots of entertainment.
How was it to plan your wedding ?
With regards to wedding planning there are always hard and easy parts, the majority of it was easy going for us the hardest part of the wedding planning was actually trying to please the guests, in the end we chose the venue we wanted the food we wanted the music we wanted and didn't worry about pleasing everyone. We wanted it to be a day where everyone was together and to celebrate our love and family. The family is what made it for us.For us the venue was the 2nd one we visited and we knew as soon as we got to the Almonry barn car park it felt right , it felt like us, the catering was easy it was part of the venue, the photographer Oxana was our first choice and she made the wedding planning so easy and calm. She met with us to discuss and find out about who we are what we like, she made the effort to visit our venue and kept in touch with us during and more importantly after the wedding too. There was no pressure, she even provided us with a wonderful MUA, who again was very chilled out and that suited us and our wedding day.
What would you recommend new engaged couples?
Just don't feel any pressure to conform to anyone else's wedding ideas, go with what makes you both happy and on the day your loved ones will enjoy it with you. No wedding idea is too crazy, it's a special unique day and make it special for you both. Also take your time there is no rush. Its important to work with people and venues that get you and understand what you want. The actual wedding day felt great it did pass by super quickly but it was relaxed we felt so very happy that everyone was enjoying the venue the food the music. I remember making time with my husband to escape the crowds and just step back and enjoy our own time, we took time to enjoy the little things we had planned for the day .
